There is now a release of Scheme 7.1 for the Vax. This release is for the 4.3BSD operating system, and includes a native-code compiler. We plan to have a separate release for Ultrix on the Vax. There will NOT be a release for VMS until VMS is POSIX compliant. Even then, we may choose not to support VMS if it is too hard. To obtain this release, use anonymous ftp to "altdorf.ai.mit.edu" (internet address 18.43.0.246) and look in the directory "archive/scheme-7.1/". The "README" file in that directory describes the directory's contents.
