I have just been told that someone asked about code for performing RSH on the TIs and that one of the people in my group pointed them at some code that I wrote a while back. The code appears to work just fine and I think it is even something that I won't mind letting other people see (ugly code should not be shown to anyone that is not a close friend). I do have one word of caution about it. For some reason, while working on this code, I dicovered that the connection with the UNIX machine wouldn't close properly (ie. not at all) unless I aborted the connection when everything was done. I don't know whether this indicates that something was missing from the protocol in my implementation or if it was just something flakey about the VAXes here or what. The point to this whole, long-winded soliloquy is that if some clever UNIX type out there figures out how to get the REXEC and RSH stuff working properly without aborting the connection I am interested in how it might be done. Thanks. Eric Karlson
