We are having problems updating our Explorer II Lisp System from release 4.1 to 6.0 and was wondering if anyone might be able to help us (we currently can not afford TICARE, you all out there that work for universities should be able to understand that). The problem is that we can not boot the new load and microcode partitions using Menuboot (Sect. 2.3 Explorer System Software Installation). When we try (we tried both BOOT 39 and MENUBOOT 38) the machine indicates that it can not find the program. We did what it said to do on page 2-5 'if the system fails to boot successfully, reinstall the system software...', again it failed. The next thing the manual tells you to do is to contact TICARE, which as I indicated earlier we can not do because of lack of money. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
