_ _ _ Two question: _ When hallucinating, what scroll have you just read when "You feel in touch with the Univer- sal Oneness." ? _ Also, is there any relationship to how many hitpoints your maximum increases and how many hitpoint your character has left when you gr- aduate to a new level ? _ i.e. if you have 4(19) and pop up to level 2, will you get fewer hitpoints added to your maximum than you might if you had, say, 15(19) ? _ _ From between the sound permeable foam pads of _ Howard Campbell. _ {akgua, allegra, ihnp4, philabs, princeton, utcsrgv}!garfield!howard _

I believe the number of HP granted to you when changing levels is 1d10 or something like that; it certainly *seems* to be a r.v. of constant density between 1 and 10. Y'know, this is a useful thing to remember; if you're fighting two monsters, and you've got almost enough points to kick a level, you may want to think very hard about which one to try to kill first; if you kill the wimpier one, the remaining one might just nail you...but if you kill the tough one, the resulting exp. points might kick you a level, and restore some of your HP; this may make it easier to kill the wimp. 'course, you'll probably miss either one repeatedly and get killed...:-) -- Rsk the Wombat UUCP: { decvax, ihnp4, uiucdcs, ucbvax } !pur-ee!rsk { decwrl, hplabs, psuvax1 } !purdue!rsk "Hey, has anybody seen a ghost?"
