OBJECTIVE: To find a job which will make use of my multiple skills similar to the way that KSRC has done in the last two years. University or company positions acceptable. My job as Manager of the Knowledge Systems Research Center has been very synergistic. I have been able to combine technical and managerial skills with my own creativity to carry out a unique mission at Texas A&M. KSRC will be winding down at the end of December 1990, having been deemed by Texas Engineering Experiment Station and Com

puter Science Department management to have accomplished the mission for which it was originally created. Funds are not available to define a new or expanded mission for it at this time.

Track Record: During my year and a half as Manager of the Knowledge Systems Research Center KSRC has taught about 100 seminars, amounting to about 2000 students in attendance. We provided a working environment in which researchers could have access to equipment and software for developing expert systems. During this same period of time I was responsible for bringing about $86,000 worth of contributed software to KSRC and TAMU. Another $225,000 has been arranged for within the last month. One of my pri

mary endeavors has been the putting together of several new curriculum offerings done by KSRC. During the past two years KSRC has probably produced and given more seminars than any other group of comparable size on the A&M campus during the same period.

I can draw selectively upon the following capabilities in order to carry out a new job assignment in a responsible and creative way. I am . . .

. . . SKILLED IN preparing and presenting materials in very understandable ways to students.

. . . SKILLED IN writing, both as far as technical correctness and style of expression.

. . . SKILLED IN planning, scheduling and managing the affairs of a research center or other organization in a very effective way. Good at tracking and follow-up.

. . . SKILLED IN techniques of corporate planning and in group dynamics for achieving common missions and goals.

. . . SKILLED IN interfacing and negotiating with suppliers of computer hardware and software in ways that leverage a great deal of benefit to my management unit -- skilled in making good deals. Have persuaded vendors to contribute a great deal of software to TAMU.

. . . SKILLED AT making a program go forward even when funds for supporting it are very restricted -- making do, scrounging when necessary.
[over]
. . . SKILLED IN writing proposals for achieving required results.

. . . SKILLED IN researching new software and hardware offerings to measure their suitability for various projects.

. . . SKILLED IN designing and writing computer software, including expert systems.

. . . SKILLED IN selling programs and concepts to others to advance the mission of the unit for which I work.

. . . SKILLED IN interfacing with the public, making speeches, producing special programs and presentations.

. . . SKILLED IN handling the interpersonal dimensions of getting along with people, smoothing over difficult situations and moving forward even when there are differences of opinion on matters.

. . . VERY CREATIVE in all dimensions of work. Not one to follow just the way something has always been done, rather one who looks for new and better ways of getting things done.

. . . ABLE TO learn quickly, to assess new situations and to respond appropriately, even when there has been no experience on which to draw.

. . . ABLE TO give proof for the claims made here by examples from my past work. I would prefer to do this in a face to face interview and discussion.

References and traditional resume furnished on request.

If you have a job opportunity for me, let's talk. You will not be wasting your time and I think you will want to give me serious consideration.

Please pass this (or a copy of it) on to anyone else who you think might be interested. Thank you.
