In an exciting effort to post something meaningful to this group, I would like to mention that site geac is the current Canadian repository for public domain X software. We try to get it from the states by any nefarious means at our disposal. There is also a mailing list for Canadian X Users (or, at least, I am trying to start one...) The current list of software on deposit is: ======================================================================= X11R2 The Core Distribution - To pathlevel 33 CONTRIB The Contributor's Tape (Xrlib, Andrew library, ...) ace Illustrates a propblem between B/W and colour systems awm The Andrew Window Manager clue A Common Lisp Object Oriented Toolkit dialog Shows how to use the dialog manager of the X Toolkit gbench A graphics benchmarking toolkit gnuchess X10 front-end for the GNU project chess game hello The paper - `How hard can it be to program Hello World' ico.new Displays a number of shapes ps2x11 Postscript to X11 display - for X11 Manuals only psycho A multi-display version of ico spaceout Claims to draw stars and planets - fails on suns stipple Shows a bug in the Sun X server twm2.7 Tom's Window manager twm3.1 Tom's Window manager (I use this one) xaccess Modify the hosts table for accessing X programs xbounce Bounces your windows around xchess X10 version of chess xcolor A color test generator for X11 xconq An early version of the Conquer games for X xconq5 The latest version of Conquer for X xdvorak Changes your keyboard to Dvorak encoding xgdb An X11 frontend to the GNU gdb debugger xgo An X10 display for GO xhosts Change the hosts table for X xlock Lock your terminal while you are gone (mandelbrot fills) xmac A quick joke to turn your X system into a macintosh xmag Magnifies a region of pixels xmandelbrot Draws the famous set - defaults to dragon xpbm The X Portable Bitmap Editor xpong Bounces your windows once (like meltdown for sun) xpopup Shows how to do Popup menus in X11 xpuzzle A classic sliding bar puzzle ========================================================================= These sources can be made available on Sun Cartridge tapes or 9-tracks as required. -david- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- David Haynes Geac Computers Canada Ltd.
