>>From article <3459@cognos.UUCP>, by glee@cognos.uucp (Godfrey Lee): >>Personally, I would like to see a truly Canadian SUG, not just a Toronto SUG >>touting to be Canada wide. Anyone else feel the same? >Sender: patrick@crcmar.crc >Here! Here! Either re-name it Toronto SUG, or somehow open it up to >all Canadians (summaries to the net would go a long way here). It is Sun Canada's choice to call it the Canadian SUG. Their head-office is in Toronto. They are interested in helping a Canadian SUG to get started. CanSUG IS TRYING to be open to all. This is only the Second Meeting we're talking about here and it is being announced Canada-wide to try and stir up interest. [Not acrimony.] CanSUG is trying to get going on a minimal budget with basically volunteer labour and facilities. This newsgroup is one example of the ideas that came out of the first meeting. Anyone with constructive ideas on how to make CanSUG more effective is welcome to comment. Would anyone truly interested in getting involved please step forward rather than just shouting from the wings. I am not officially connected with CanSUG, but I suspect that a polite request to this newsgroup, to sun-stroke-people@ai.toronto.edu, or to {watmath,ubc-cs,alberta,dalcs,garfield,uunet}!utai!sun-stroke-people will bring forward an ``official'' contact address. --- Jeff Lee, Research Associate, Department of Computer Science The University of Western Ontario, London Canada, N6A 5B7 jonah@uwocsd.UWO.CDN, jonah@UWOVAX.BITNET, decvax!watmath!julian!uwocsd!jonah Disclaimer: I am not officially connected with the Canadian Sun Users Group.
