There hasn't been much traffic in the group lately...
I have a problem getting our Printronix band printer to properly backspace
when printing. The problem shows up when printing man pages and the like.
I know the printer works properly because I just moved it off of our VAX
where it worked flawlessly.
Either the printer refuses to backspace when it receives a ^H or the ^H
is being converted to a space before getting to the printer. In any case
a string like "_^HY_^He_^Hs" produces "_ Y_ e_ s" instead of "Yes".

I've read the man page for TERMIO(4) in the Sun manuals but it seems that
the flags settings don't correspond to the actions of the printer. Or I'm
not interpreting the manual page correctly.
Anyone have any ideas? I'd be happy with getting a copy of a printcap entry
for a similar printer.
