I've been trying to get my new SPARCstation to make a connection using my Telebit T2000 modem. I've tried both tip and uucico without success. tip will dial the number and the two modems will negotiate a PEP connection, but tip reports the call failed :-( If I then run tip hardwire, I can continue logging in to the remote site. Thinking this might be a problem with tip, I set up a uucp connection between the machines. When running at debug level 7 I get the following: ----------------output from uucico -x7--------------------------- finds called getto called call: no. xxxxxxx for sys moore Dial xxxxxxx Using dialer type ACUHAYES dialing Hayes 0\015ACU write ok (the modem dials and gets connected) 12\015Line open failed, UNKNOWN DIALER ERROR (but the modems are connected) dcr returned as -1 Dial xxxxxxx (and it tries again, meanwhile the remote system has sent a login:) ... exit code 0 ---------------end of output--------------------------------------- Can anyone tell me why the Sun won't recognize that the connection has been made?
