A while ago I posted an article casting my aspersions on rogue. (5.3)
I apologize and realize the error in that behavior. I have come to
realize that rogue is, after all, winnable, given an unobtainable
amount of luck. Uh oh, did I say 'unobtainable'? Yes, I did! But, then
there are those of you who have won, or at least claim to have, won. Oops,
did I say 'claim'? Of course I did! Who could possibly have won this
frigging mess? I submit to you that such claims are LIES, ALL LIES! OR
THEY CHEATED, WHICH IS WORSE THAN LYING. YAAAGHHH, GRRRRRR! HERE'S TO
THUNDERING HERDS OF BLACK UNICORNS UP KEN ARNOLDS'S NOSE, AND HOBGOBLINS
IN YOUR UNDERWEAR, ALL YOU ALLEGED WINNERS, HAH!

This allows me to look back at interesting games and do things like develop statistics on monster hit points and other wonders. It also gives me permanent playback records on all of my won games. If you have a vt100 compatible terminal you can sit back and watch my every keystroke on BOTH of my 5.3 wins. I would post them but a won game runs about 300-400K. The only problem with posting a rogue-game is that it'll have
the cursor constructs for whatever terminal it was run on built into it...
and thus will be gibberish to everyone who doesn't have *that* kind of
terminal.
