I foolishly started a "fight-to-the-near-death" with an aquator while wielding just a bow (dumb - I know), but the bow was too weak to do any damage, so I kept getting hungrier and hungrier and was on my way to starvation. Is there anyway I could have stopped the fight? I also tried to let myself die of starvation for the humor such a posting would cause with all the gold I had but it didn't seem to want to let this happen, so I finally had to quit (my friends were anxious to go to the bars). An ignominious end if there ever was one. Any ideas of how I could have escaped?

Just type your interrupt character or BREAK. The fight will stop and
rogue will say "Really quit?" at which time you respond 'n'. You
can continue manually. This is also useful if you are sitting around
when you're blind (doing a 300. or the like) and get "weak"; or your
keybounce goes crazy and you get '555s' instead or '5s'.
