I'm playing Advanced Rogue 3.x now and I've recently played a game where I found a ring of heroism. It wasn't cursed; it went on and off without a remove curse scroll. I couldn't tell what it did at all. However I did lose the game in a fight with a monster ( I think it was a ghast ) that I shouldn't have had any trouble with and I was wearing the ring when I lost.
