[comp.society.women] wizards

Valerie, Lea, and Stan have made some good comments about the forces
which appear to have shaped male "wizards." The problem has to be
"attacked" [notice the very "male" word] at a young age. Around
pre-school age. I think the problem is a natural competition which
forces order on kids. One reason why so many of us are nerds
was because we compensated for other, typically physical deficencies
[many catch up]. If we "solve" this problem, will we destroy
the environment which did create wizards? I hope not, I would hope
we could accomplish the same goals with more cooperation.

On Stan's next level, I think we will see change. It's been noted
that video games are changing their character from "shoot-em up"
games. I "caught" my secretary playing an amusing game on her PC
which wasn't a "shoot" game. If she's playing this, then I think
other girls will get around this too.
