[comp.society.women] 2nd try

[Someone asks Eugene if he thought that the attitudes of the males in
the group which he earlier described was discriminatory toward Adm
Hopper. He responds:]

I do hope I get a chance to meet her. I really like her
concern for the young. The tape gave her bug story.

Regarding some of the men who made those comments, they all know each other.
They recognize they are in different areas of computing. Let me
say that some of the men are "older-thinking men." They believe women
should stay at home etc. My Dad was like that. While, I don't
have to think like them, I have to tend to work around them.
They recognize a younger generation which ideas different than their,
they shake their heads (forget other discussions on politics).
Anyways, we have mutual understandings of our differences in
	opinions.

Oh, let me clarify my first statement about these people knowing
one another: these men and Adm. Grace known one another. Several of these
	men are in their 60s.

Back to my line of reasoning. We have a group of people with
differing points of view. So long as my opinion is clear to
those older guys, I can effect at least small changes in their
opinions. I'm not always successful, and sometimes they influence
my opinions. That's the spice of life, I guess.
