I have been receiving complaints from people for having rejected an article by Linda Seltzer. The two arguments I've heard have been that the article was strictly relevant to the charter of the group and that the rejection was form of censorship. In regard to the second, I can only say that I agreed with Linda's article, but felt that it should be posted elsewhere. The solution which Linda hit upon, of having the article announced here but available through email, seemed quite good to me. I have to say that I don't think it was strictly relevant, and that the consequences of my stepping over the line are quite serious. For example, in an article (1404@igloo.Sun.COM) in news.groups, Bill Vajk threatens that he (or someone) is keeping an archive of c.s.women articles in order to prove that it does not belong in the comp* hierarchy. That suggests to me that someone plans to raise the name-space issue again. So, I am genuinely sorry that I have to reject articles, and I understand your arguments as to why I shouldn't. But I feel that I am obligated by the charter of the group and the threat to its existence. I suppose the bright side of this is that if Robby gets tired, we know where we can go to find old articles. -Trish skyler@ecsvax.uncecs.edu
