Recently, there was a very interesting discussion on this net concerning the opposition many women got in college because they decided to pursue a science degree. I will be receiving my B.S. in math/computer science from SDSU in 2 weeks, 1 day, (not that I'm counting down the days), and have never witnessed or been the victim of any sort of prejudice. The reason I bring this topic up again is that I've decided to do a speech on this subject in another class I'm taking. I feel this is an important topic and would really benefit the class to hear of personal experiences women have had in this area. I think they will be as shocked as I was to the blatant prejudice against women, especially in the 50's and 60's (and before). If anyone has any other stories they would like to share, or to retell their story, I would really appreciate it. Please e-mail so not to clutter the net with a topic we've already exhausted. I'll post if I find any that were especially appalling. Thank you. adamov@nprdc.arpa (Theresa Adamov)
