(This is in net.followup because I don't think net.sport gets across the pond) From the Times - March 7th [article about excessive bouncers in cricket] .... The suggested change will go to the International Cricket Conference in July and could become operative in time for tours next winter. .... The TCCB want the start of Law 42(8) to read "The bowling of short pitched balls is unfair if, in the opinion of the umpire at the bowlers end, they are either frequent or by their length, line or height are likely to inflict physical injury on the striker standing upright at the crease. The relative skill of the striker should also be taken into consideration."
