[comp.protocols.iso.x400] Where can I get a copy of the X.400 specification?

mguyott@imposter.samsung.COM (Marc Guyott) (04/10/90)

I am part of a relatively small and relatively new company that does not have
a huge technical library (otherwise I would look for the spec in our technical
library (-; ). I am looking for a copy of the offical X.400 specification so
that I can begin thinking about writing a messaging system that conforms to
the specification. If you knows how I might get a copy of the specification
(either free or for a price) I would appreciate hearing from you.

                                             Thanks in advance, Marc

Hello Marc,

I haven't seen any posted replies to this, so here goes. In the U.S.
the OSI specifications (including X.400) are available from:

    Omnicom, Inc.
    501 Church Street NE
    Suite 206
    Vienna, VA 22180 USA

    phone: +1 (703) 281-1135
    fax: +1 (703) 281-1505
    telex: 904059 WSH

They have photocopies of the 1984 X.400 "redbook" version available
for US$28.

They have hardbound copies of the 1988 X.400 "bluebook" version
available for US$93. Their representative said that the current
printing contains "errors" and an error-free version is not available.

Currently they request payment accompanying the order, either in the
form of a credit card or a company check.

For more information, please contact Omnicom. I have no affiliation
with the company.

Hope this helps,

allan
