[comp.protocols.iso.x400] Need layman's guide to X.400 and X.500

craystn@gpu.utcs.utoronto.ca (Cray Station) (11/15/90)

Could someone suggest a good guide to X.400 and X.500 services? The book
should preferably be non-technical as I do not wish to know the nut and bolts
of the protocols.
Also, is there a book that summarizes the X.400 software and hardware
products currently available?
thanks

Debra Deutsch of BBN Systems and Technologies Corporationhas written quite
a good introduction to X.500. It is available from her (when last we
spoke): ddeutsch@bbn.com.
