I'm looking for pointers to information on the X.400 standard so that I can prepare a .5 hour presentation to be delivered around the middle of February. My local research library has been very helpful, but could only find a few journal references, even with an online search of DIALOG. The standard was apparently published in fiche form by NTIS, but is now out of print. The only concrete information I've been able to find is a brief summary in DATAPRO REPORTS. I need information on the following: - a good basic description of the standard - its relationship to the ISO layer model - description of header and message body formats, and how they differ from other standards such as smtp - a summary of the current state of implementation of X.400 (is it currently in use, and where? by whom?) - a description of message routing between services such as compuserve, bitnet, and the internet and X.400 - a bibliography, especially journal articles or books (with isbn numbers please) that i might be able to obtain on interlibrary loan As you can see, I'm looking more for overview info rather than details, but I could use some details to flesh out my talk and be able to answer questions. Thanks to in advance for their assistance. Please email replys directly to me, and I'll summarize for the group if I find some useful information. Dennis Harris bitnet: jsdph@alaska.edu
