< You are still being held by the rogue bug -More-> okay...there I am.. Every potion you can think of. I'm a level 7 on level 9 with a decent amount of hit points. Many Leprecauns have done battle with me and, alas, have usually run away with the kings ransom I had collected on other levels. My armor class is 5. My strength is 16. My mace is doubly enchanted, and I know that this is the game that I will win. I'm finding weapons and scrolls and potions wherever I look. And then a nasty rattlesnake starts in on me. I have no fear, so I fight with him for a while. Well, he must have been pissed at all of his brethern that I took out with a single blow, because he is a REAL nasty. I figure its time to polymorph him. I'm standing diagonally up and to his left. I zap him! And he turns into a Venus Fly Trap, which hits. So I go straight up, away from him. I figure I'm safe, and I'll stand back and hit the Dumb Plant with some darts, or chuck some poison in its gizzard. So I go to move: You are being held Thats it. No matter which way I turn, I'm stuck. When a nasty comes up to get me from any side, I gotta throw stuff at it, since I can't even attack without the damnable message from above telling me that I'm Held!! Centaurs try for me. I throw my darts at them, and they die, like the pond scum their mothers were. Rattlesnakes come, and I throw some arrows at them. I'm weilding my bow, so I take them out easily. The floor is looking like a battlefield with all of my arrows and darts littering it. BUT I CAN'T MOVE. The Quagga comes and starts taking massive hits off me. But I get him just in the nick of time, with the last of my arrows. Then another quagga, probably the girlfriend of our recently demised quaqqa, takes a swing. A swing and a miss and a swing and a deadly blow. My hits are low. I go to shoot an arrow. None. I try to throw a dart. None. Potions? None. Scrolls? None. I throw my mace. It misses. I die with a dying question on my lips: WHAT WAS HOLDING ME??? IS THIS A BUG???? IF IT IS, CONSIDER MY FLAME ON!!!!!! IF NOT, TELL ME HOW A VENUS CAN HOLD YOU FROM TWO AWAY --- AFTER YOU'VE ALREADY MOVED!!!! ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Ross M. It's been my experience that once the ol F hits, you are going to be held, and that its odd that you were able to move away from him in the first place. > ... Whenever I tried to attack a nasty next to me I got that dumb message, You are being Held!!
