I have a sun sparc with sun Os 4.0. I read the notice about the SUNBUG and I removed the following objects from /lib/libc.a: des_crypt.o des_soft.o _crypt.o auth_des.o svcauth_des.o When I compiled using make, I got the following messages: ld -e __start -Bstatic -o temacs crt... Undefined __svcauth_des I tried to used the standard librairies but I got a problem about _edata, _end and _etext. I can't get around the problem. Alas, the sunwindows stuff references __svcauth_des. We just added a definition to libc.a (it doesn't actually appear to be *used*).
