We're running GNU Emacs 18.50.5 (.5? I don't know what it's for...) on a Sun running BSD 4.2 (Sun Release 3.5). When RMAIL is *first* run (i.e. no pre-existing ~/RMAIL), the RMAIL buffer is screwed up. Everything in my ~/mbox (already read mail) is appended to an empty RMAIL file. The following appears (flush left) at the top: BABYL OPTIONS: Version: 5 Labels: Note: This is the header of an rmail file. Note: If you are seeing it in rmail, Note: it means the file has no messages in it. The contents of ~/mbox follow. Upon saving ~/RMAIL and killing the buffer, RMAIL may be reinvoked and everything is fine. Each message appears alone in the buffer. Any suggestions on a fix?
