Hi! Well, as promised, I wrote functions to edit remote and compressed files. Both functions were adapted from code sent to me by other people. I basically added functionality so that the files will automatically be saved remotely or compressed as appropriate. Is this the standard forum for announcing this type of hacking or is there a "gnu.emacs.fun.extensions" newsgroup? -MSL
