In GNU Emacs 18.51.40 of Tue Oct 18 1988 on gauss.rutgers.edu (berkeley-unix) A user got the following error when trying to save a file. He supposedly didn't do anything weird up to that point. First there were a bunch of '*invalid*'s across the screen, one right after the other. Then the following: Peculiar error: stringp, #<EMACS Bug: ILLEGAL DATA TYPE (#o37777777607) Save you (it didn't show what ran off the screen). He was able to ^Z out but we got this error when we tried to run eval-expression (to dump-emacs). I've got a core dump but I don't know how helpful that will be (optimized and all). ds
