I'm not sure if this is any great insight, but I found a new use for the slow monster staff/wand. Say you have the following: _____________________ | | |T@ | | | | | | + |_____________________| First, zap (and hopefully hit) the troll. He will hit you once, but then hit him, step back (or diagonal), hit him, step again, etc., etc. This way you get "free" hits while you back up. Of course, if you back into another monster, then you're up the creek again: _____________________ | | | | | | | | | T@U + Oops! |_____________________| I'm sure that some of the rogue-wizards our there know of this one already, but this might come in useful for some less-experienced players.

[Flame hits... well, just a small one] Congratulations on making one of the most useful discoveries in rogue tactics. No doubt the excitement of the discovery is what prompted the net article. Hovever, because of the omitted *** spoiler *** on the title (or even *** SPOILER ***), some young rogue novice (poor guy) now cannot discover the tactic for himself. Come on netlanders, remember the spoiler! Mick. PS I ALWAYS read spoiler articles!!!!!!!
