When one renames a file using dired which is already in an emacs buffer one would want the file name and buffer name to be changed. The way I know to do this (kill the buffer and reread the file) is tedious. I would think this would be the normal way things are done from a user standpoint but I can see why they are done otherswise. Pass this on if you think it merits it. I'm not sure myself. The version of emacs used is 18.52 on 1260 Celerity. -mike
