[gnu.emacs.bug] Apollo Domain-IX bsd4.2 immortal cpu-hog emacs 18.52

paul@kuhub.cc.ukans.edu (Craig Paul) (12/29/88)

Apollo-Aegis 9.7 running bsd4.2 shell: I just built 18.52 and execute it.
The window is under emacs' control, support files are read in, the status
line is displayed, and the introductory text will dissappear. After that,
anything typed into the window will not appear, and emacs does not acknowledge
its control/meta sequences.

A forced window close will close the window, but the emacs process and
its vtserver are still running. In fact, the emacs process is chewing up
about 98% of the processor time. When kill -9'd vtserver dies, but emacs
leaves a residual "startup shell" initialization, which is immortal until
logout.

Any hints?
