In GNU Emacs 18.52.4 of Fri Jan 27 1989 on mrspoc (usg-unix-v)
This Emacs is running on a Plexus 60 - a 68020 machine - running SYS 5.2.
I rebuilt the Emacs so that it used alloca.s instead of libPW.a's alloca().
Now, Emacs doesn't lose as many characters as it used to, and comes up *much*
faster (especially in loading lisp code).
However, it still loses characters. It's independant of terminal type or
terminal speed.
Anyone have any ideas? Anyone know of any other losing character problems?
