We are running Emacs 18.50 on some machines (Vax 11/750's running 4.3) on 18.52 on others (Sun 3's running 3.4). The following behavior is noticeable at slow baud rates (2400, and especially 1200). With 18.50, when I insert a character at the beginning of a line, the rest of line pushes over immediately, as if the terminal's insert mode is being used. With 18.52, inserting a character at the beginning of a line makes each character to the right of it be deleted and inserted in turn. Perhaps something is wrong with our termcap entry (which is identical with both versions). It follows. (I did `fold' on it, so the 438-character line wouldn't break any mailers.) Any help appreciated.
