Today I ftp'd the following file from prep.ai.mit.edu : /u2/emacs/emacs-18.53-apollo-update.tar.Z When I tried to uncompress the file on an Apollo, I got the following message: corrupt input Uncompress did work on the file 'emacs-18.53.tar'. I ftp'd the bad file two times, and it failed to uncompress both times. I ftp'd it to a sequent and also unsuccessfully tried to uncompress it there. Please mail me if I did something wrong or if the file is indeed currupted. Thanks, -Steve Anderson sanderso@umn-cs.cs.umn.edu umn-cs!sanderso

Try the pub/gnu/apollo-emacs.tar.Z from labrea.stanford.edu. That's the version I released. Perhaps someone incorrectly transferred it to prep. Leonard

I didn't realize my previous message would get posted to this newsgroup. Anyway, the following suggestion worked: From lnz@lucid.com Tue Apr 25 14:34:07 1989 > Try the pub/gnu/apollo-emacs.tar.Z from labrea.stanford.edu. That's > the version I released. Perhaps someone incorrectly transferred it to > prep. > Leonard Thanks to those who mailed me, -- -Steve Anderson sanderso@umn-cs.cs.umn.edu umn-cs!sanderso
