Currently GNu Emacs wraps/truncates a column when a character hits the last column known to either the termcap entry or as set by (set-screen-width COLS). In a couple of modes (e.g. view and dired), it would be nice to change this behavior so that on (say) an 80 column screen, it requires 81 characters before the wrap occurs (I know you can cheat and say (set-screen-width 81), but this is unacceptable since it is global). Is there a way to get this behavior already?
