[gnu.emacs.bug] XMenu and Sun 4/60, gcc-1.36 and emacs

anselmo-ed@cs.yale.edu (Ed Anselmo) (10/07/89)

Is anyone successfully using the old XMenu package with emacs on a Sun 4/60
(SPARCstation)?

I compiled emacs 18.54 with cc, and got no complaints about anything. All the
other mouse operations (cut, paste, split, etc) work fine, but if I try to
pop up a menu with ctrl-shift-left or ctrl-shift-middle, everything seems to
"lock up" (no menu, no keystrokes are recognized, no nothing) in the emacs
window.

Also, I tried compiling emacs 18.54 with gcc-1.36 on a SPARC, using

gcc -g -traditional

everything compiled, but temacs died a horrible death while trying to create
the DOC file. Is this one of the incompatibilities mentioned in the README
file?

Upgrade to the current release of emacs (18.55) where this bug is fixed...
