Greetings. I am a novice at emacs and have 2 simple questions for I
cannot find the answers here.
1. I was working in a Sun Workstation environment and am now working
different environment. When the environment changed and when
a file is opened, I now get the following message (which I like to
get rid of)
``Error in init file''
I do not have an init file; did create an init file but that did
not work. Help?
2. I would like to use the same delete key on my keyboard in both
unix and emacs environments: unix environment uses the backspace
key and emacs environment uses the delege key. I would like to
use the backspace key in both environments. What needs to be
added in the emacs file? Another emacs question is how to set
the four arrow keys on the keyboard to control the cursor in emacs
(some people like to use the arrows versus control keys)?
Any help in these matters will be GREATLY Appreciated.
