However a computer scientist specialising in Artificial Intelligence or a semanticist with an ability to use computer based corpora would also be acceptable. The AMUS Project aims to design a multiscalar supercomputer, and is led by the Advanced Computer Research Institute (ACRI) in Lyons. Other project partners are the University of Crete (FORTH) and Sekas GmbH. The work at Manchester will involve analysis of large- scale computational applications and their implementation on the proposed AMUS architecture. Applicants for the Research Associate posts should have experience of large-scale scientific or engineering computation, or general interests in multiprocessor software development. The posts are available immediately, until 31st December 1991 in the first instance. The salary scale is grade 1A, #13,399-#18,165.
