Is there any way to include a "real" double quote (") in a tex or latex
mode file without changing the mode? I sometimes need it for typrewriter
style print in programs and of course get '' or ``.

To insert a real <any-character>, use the function quoted-insert (bound by default to C-q - see the mnemonic?). Hit C-h k (describe-key) C-q for more information on this function. So, to insert a " in latex-mode, hit C-q ". Regards, [Ag] gaynor@rutgers.edu
