[gnu.emacs] global-set-key

erik@mpx2.UUCP (Erik Murrey) (01/16/89)

I am not a very experienced emacs-lisp programmer, so excuse my
ignorance...

I want to change the C-x C-b keybinding from "list-buffers" to
"buffer-menu". So, in my startup file, I put:

	;;; I prefer C-x C-b to be buffer-menu, not buffer-list
	(global-set-key "" 'buffer-menu)

This works for a while, but then something I do after that resets it
back to "buffer-list".

I've done a grep on all of the emacs-lisp files in the distribution,
but I can't find anything that resets the key bindings.

I'm sure that I need to modify a keymap, but I have no idea how to do
this...

Help!

Please e-mail, as I'm sure its just me, not emacs...

... Erik
