I'm running on a Sun 3/50 with 4MB of main memory. It seems I've
managed to walk myself into the trap of having a file too big to edit. I
thought a file was only loaded into memory in parts. Now I'm getting a "memory
exhausted" error and the only option left to me is '^X^C' to quit out of emacs.
Can someone offer me some help or a little reasoning as to why this is
happening? I wouldn't even mind it if emacs told me ahead of time that it
couldn't work on the file rather than just freezing up until I quit out of it.
Thanks in advance.
