I just got my hands on a terminal which has a key that can be enabled as a meta key. Unfortunately, the net I use to connect to the emacs "server" is limited to seven bit characters, so the emacs server never sees the 8th bit set. The terminal can also set this pseudo-meta key to send a control-A before a key pressed in conjunction with it. It appears I could use this, setting up some form of keymap, probably with the function setup-terminal-keymap. I guess what I'd like to do is copy the functionality of the "meta keymap" to another keymap, without destroying the meta keymap. Am I totally off-base here, or can I really do this? If this is possible, how? Please reply directly to me. Much obliged, Mike __________________________________________________________________________ | THE InterNet address> davism@kcgl1.eng.ohio-state.edu | -------------------------------------------------------------------------- | These_Thoughts := My_Own | |************************************************************************| | "Daddy, Daddy!!
