Will a more unified roff be part of GNU ? I mean, nowadays you've ditroff, troff and other kinds of roff (except nroff) and dozens of filters (e.g. the Transcript stuff) that needed to be installed just to print some simple typsetted papers on the laserwriter or other kinds of laser printers, so I just wondered if it'll be nice to have just 1 package that would take care of everything going to the laserwriter (I think that making Postscript printers as the default output device may be a wise choice though). I guess that one can always do away *roff with TeX & texinfo but then there're people who has written papers and other stuff in *roff so ... Oh yes, is there a gnu.general or gnu.suggestions newsgroup that I can post more general kinds of stuff to ? -- ** PLEASE send replies to eho@confidence.princeton.edu ** Eric Ho Cognitive Science Lab., Princeton University voice = 609-987-2819 (x2987) email = eho@confidence.princeton.edu eho@bogey.princeton.edu reagrds. -eric-
