A wand of cancellation, when pointed at a rust monster, defeats his ability to wreck your armour when he hits (at least in our version).

Here's the word from the RVM: * C_a_n_c_e_l_l_a_t_i_o_n_: cancels a monster's magic powers. For instance, it will * prevent an umber hulk from confusing you with its gaze. Works on ants, * dragons, eyes, fungi, invisible stalkers, leprechauns, nymphs, rust * monsters, umber hulks, and wraiths (but not mimics). If you use 5.3, the list is: aquators, dragons, ice monsters, leprechauns, medusas, nymphs, phantoms, rattlesnakes, venus' fly-traps, and wraiths (but not xerocs). -- Col. G. L.
