Hi out there... a few questions - I like emacs quite a bit, and I'd like to be able to use it on a BBS system if possible. So the question is, is there any way, shape or form, that Emacs (Gnu Emacs, preferably) could be set up to serve as a message editor on a BBS system? The only serious problem I've heard from an acquaintance is that MicroEmacs couldn't be used because it is too easy to access files all over the BBS from inside the editor. Another question, which just occurred to me: Is there any sort of version of Emacs for the Apple II+/e/c computers? And while I'm on the subject of Apples, I have a bit of trouble with the vt100 when I'm using Emacs from an Apple at home. Somebody suggested that there are some things missing or present in the termcap (I'm using apple Kermit v3.84) that might be causing the problem, but the only solution suggest- ed was tearing the termcap down bit by bit until the problem stopped. And last, but not least, while I prefer Emacs vastly over other editors, it _does_ tend to suck up CPU time... and Gnu Emacs is supposedly even worse. Is there any way to avoid this without giving up Emacs? Steven J.
