[net.games.rogue] HELP: some potions in v5.6

I'm relatively new to Rogue 5.6 so this is probably a stupid
question, but what good are potions of "flying" and "clear
thought"? I keep drinking (pardon me, quaffing) them but
nothing good or bad seems to happen. Please mail or post
replies as you think appropriate.

if these are anything like the potions in 5.3 and advanced rogue 2.0,
a potion of flying allows you to pass over traps with no effects and
clear thought prevents you from being confused by monsters that normally
do so.  both effects are temporary (unless there are blessed potions in
5.6).  i suspect that the monsters that confuse are very deep in the
dungeon.  they are for advanced rogue 2.0.
