I have installed GNU Emacs version 18.54 under HPUX 6.5 running on HP 9000's models 320, 350 and 370. We have the renaissance, topcat and catseye displays. When running emacs on the bare console, no window system running, and I stop emacs with ^Z, HPUX 6.5 has job control, the process stops. But when I bring it back to the foreground, emacs is totally confused. The screen is not redrawn, emacs does not understand ctrl-X,ctrl-C to quit. I must stop emacs and kill the process. Anyone familiar with this problem? Have any suggestions? Thanks. -- Boyd Merworth The University of Texas at Austin Department of Computer Sciences, TAY 2.124, Austin, Texas 78712 merworth@cs.utexas.edu {harvard,gatech,uunet}!cs.utexas.edu!merworth
