I have several 5.2 questions. First in one game (out of one hundred plus) I entered a room and was given the message In A Bizzare Place (89,0) or something very similiar. As I moved the message would repeat although sometimes the coordinates(?) would change to say (89,1). The other strange thing about this was that there was a gnome in another doorway to the room with a L preventing it's entrance. Upon pincushioning the L I waited in vain for the gnome. Investigation found the gnome still sitting in the doorway unwilling or unable to move. An arrow did induce it to move to it's demise...answers anyone? In another game heading up with the amulet I was wearing both stealth and searching, at level 11 (?) I discovered a trap and was given a message something like Special Trap #7 and the screen went blank except for the Rogue. I was easily able to restore the screen, but alas was too chicken to see what stepping on the trap(?) would do. Now for three very stupid related questions; in 5.2 do Staffs of Nothing, scrolls of Nothing (This Scroll seems to be blank) or potions of quench thirst (this potion tastes extremelly dull) have any useful purpose?! Now as to 2.0 we had access to this version for a month before they closed it from the student accounts. I noted that as a Thief one could use a scroll of aquirement to obtain a staff of slow monster which is always(?) blessed. Blessed slow monster freezes monsters for good(?). In any case I used this on a quartermaster and was able to steal two hundred plus items from him, at this point my tired little hand slipped and I hit him so he vanished. He came back fairly soon on the same level and I swiped another few dozen items before boredom caused my hand to slip again. I should note that I zapped him again every fifty or so thefts just in case the "slow monster" wore off. I also had to trot over to a doorway to throw away all the excess goods, and note that any type of item disappears as soon as the passage is full, but all give the message "the (some type of weapon) disappears as it hits the ground. We have no way to save games and it was midnightish so I abandoned my +13,+12 two handed sword and all my other goodies. Comments on wether this approach should easily win games? We would also like to hear news on how one deals with Gods and demi-Gods as we didn't have a chance to do much with them. The Chopper and Nom *** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH YOUR MESSAGE ***
