[gnu.emacs] Looking for Full-Featured C Mode

wpkege@snll-arpagw.UUCP (kegelmeyer william p) (10/04/89)

Hello --

I'm looking for a C editing mode more thoroughly featured than that in
the distribution c-mode.el release. In particular, code to expand
structures like "if" and "while", a set of pre-defined abbrevs, and a
enhancements to the comment mode that permit customization of the string
used to begin a continued comment would be of interest. (These, among
others, are features of the Unipress emacs "electric-c" mode upon
which I grew to rely.)

I don't doubt this is an old and well-traveled question, but I am new
to GNU emacs. Please respond by e-mail; if I receive sufficient "me,
too" messages, I'll post a summary of responses.

Many thanks for all consideration ---
