[gnu.emacs] marking buffer updated

carroll@s.cs.uiuc.edu (10/06/89)

If I'm writing a primitive that modifies a buffer, and I want that buffer
(which might not be the current buffer) to be marked as modified so that
the next redisplay updates it on the screen, what should be done? As I
understand it now, buffer->text.modified should be incremented. Is this
correct? And if the buffer is the current buffer, should bf_modified be
incremented, or bf_cur->text.modified, or both? Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks!
