Hello, netlanders. We have lots of emacs'ers here, so it is better for us to have emacs as a shareable executable (NMAGIC) rather than a demand paged executable (ZMAGIC) file. This works just dandy by adding the -n flag to the link step in the ymakefile in gnu emacs 18.55 under Ultrix 3.1 on a microvax, but it really does in a DECstation 3100 (same gnu, same Ultrix). The unexec step (unexmips.c on the DS3100) wipes out because the in-core magic number is wrong (it is, in fact zero). Has anyone else out there run into this? Did you overcome this obstacle, or are you learning to live with lots of demand paging? Dare I tell unexmips.c that a zero there is ok, and it should just go on? I'm quickly getting in over my head here!!! ---->| 8^( Thanks in advance!
