We've run into a few items, and not known how to use them.
1) What does the message "you hear a high pitch whining" mean?
2) What does the message "you feel someone watching over you" mean?
3) What does the message "you feel a strange sense of loss" mean?
We've run into these, and haven't known how to use them. We tried
reading #2 against a Yeti, but it had no effect. Is it protection, and
if so, how do you use it?
Is #3 gold detection? We've checked our packs afterwards, but didn't
notice anything missing.

Anything cursed is now removeable, although they will still have any minuses they originally had. 3) This is usually a variety of things. Usually it is "locate X" or hold monster. Darin Johnson
