Hi, I was trying to print off a copy of the gnu emacs manual the other day, and our spool queue does not have enough space to accept the whole postscript document. I noticed that there was a file called 'split-man' in the document directory, and it contains a reference to a command called dviselect. Where can I get this command? Does anyone have any clues? Thanks, Brett Brett Harper please email to: harperb@frith.egr.msu.edu

Since I received so many helpful respones, I figured I would just post a note of thanks (I have real bad luck mailing to email addresses) If anyone is reading this that didn't respond the results were: 1. get dviselect from comp.sources 2. use one of the dvi to postscript converters to do the work for you. I used the second method we have dvi2ps, and it worked nicely: dvi2ps -f 1 -t 64 emacs.dvi | lpr I found this command in the TeX distribution under the obsolete/mitdrivers directory, I guess we should install the new one, dvi-2-ps (or something like that) anyway, thanks again (Just proves that people who spend all day in front of a electron gun can still be courteous) Brett Harper

Please let me know as well, as I need it for proofreading the Elisp manual.

I posted dviselect to alt.sources a week or two ago. If it has expired at
your site, or you don't get alt.sources, Let me know and I will mail you the
six shar archives. Alternatively, you can get dviselect as part of the
SeeTeX distribution on expo.lcs.mit.edu in the /contrib directory.
